Her Eminence Jetsun Kushola, the sister of His Holiness Sakya Trizin and the foremost female teacher of Tibetan Buddhism, will bestow the 21 Taras Initiations according to the Palden Atisha Tradition. Her Eminence will also bestow the Lung (the transmission of the 21 Taras Praise), the Medicine Buddha Initiation and the Long Life Initiation.

Lama Migmar will give meditation instruction on the Green Tara sadhana which includes the visualization meditation, different mudra practices and the correct pronunciation of mantra. The sadhana text can be purchased at that time.

 

PRE-REGISTRATION IS RECOMMENDED
Please pre-register since space is limited.

 

Please bring your meditation cushion and lunch.

The Jowoje Palden Atisha's tradition of 21 Taras is the most widespread and revered lineage of Tara in Tibet. Spread in all lineages, the practices of  the 21 Taras contain all that is needed to assist practitioner's in their relative and ultimate aims. The 21 Taras include forms of Tara for pacifying illnesses, accumulating wealth, removing obstacles, and so on. Please join us for this wonderful event.

DIRECTIONS

From Boston and points East:
Take Mass Pike 90 West to the Lee Exit (Exit 2). After toll take LEFT at end of ramp and then an immediate RIGHT on to Rt. 102 West. Take 102 into the center of Stockbridge and then take a LEFT on Rt. 7 South (just after the Red Lion Inn). Proceed on Rt. 7 through Great Barrington center. As you leave the center of town take a RIGHT at 3rd set of lights onto Rt. 23 West /41 South. The Police station will be on your left at that intersection. Proceed on 23/41 through the village of South Egremont (speed limit enforced at 25mph) and then take 1st LEFT on Rt. 41 South (Undermountain Road). As you pass pond on right take your 1st RIGHT on Mt. Washington Rd. Go LEFT at green street sign that just says “Avenue”. Avenue feeds into Jug End Rd. Take a sharp RIGHT onto Jug End Road. Ahimsa Institute is down the 2nd driveway on the right (at dark green mail box) at 161 Jug End.

From Vermont and points North:
Take Rt. 7 South to Great Barrington, then follow directions as outlined above.

From New York City and points South:
Take New York State Thruway 87 North to Exit 21 Catskill/Hudson. At end of ramp take LEFT onto 23B. Take ramp on LEFT, after passing under bridge, and merge onto NY-23 East. Continue to follow 23 East around Hudson (you will need to take several turns but just keep following 23 East. Continue on thru Craryville and Hillsdale. As you pass Catamount Ski area you will enter Massachusetts. At bottom of hill, just past John Andrews restaurant on left, take a RIGHT onto Jug End Road. Continue on Jug End Rd across Mt. Washington Rd. After about a mile you will see dark green mail box (#161 Jug End) on the LEFT and a sign that says “Ahimsa”.
